- Jesus then said,
“I will remain with you
only for a short time longer,
and then I shall return
to him who sent me.” - Then you will understand equity and justice
as well as righteousness—every good path. - What then if you were to behold the Son of Man
ascend to where he was before? - What then? Should we sin because we are not under the Law but under grace? Of course not!
- What then can we say in response to all this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
- When pride is nurtured, disgrace soon follows,
but wisdom is the hallmark of the humble. - I then heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me!”
- Then, after completing their fasting and prayer, they laid their hands on them and sent them off.
- I have made a covenant with my eyes
not to look with desire upon a virgin. - I do not set aside the grace of God, for if justification comes through the Law, then Christ died for nothing.
- When you call out to me and come forth and pray to me, I will listen to you.
- And the good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the entire world as a testimony offered to all the nations. And then the end will come.
- Do not let this book of the law be absent from your mouth; meditate upon it day and night, so that you might carefully observe everything that is written in it. Then you will prosper and be successful.
- Then, after he had spoken to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven, and there he took his place at the right hand of God.
- What then shall we say? Should we persist in sin in order that grace may abound? Of course not! We have died to sin. How can we live in it any longer?
- My son, if your heart is wise,
then my heart will be glad. - I will, thereby, display my greatness and my holiness and make myself known to many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
- If you, then, despite your evil nature, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
- However, the wisdom that comes from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, and considerate, full of mercy and good fruits, without any trace of partiality or hypocrisy.
- And if then my people who bear my name humble themselves and pray to me and seek my presence as they turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear them from heaven and forgive their sins and restore their land.
- For this reason, I rejoice when I endure weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and distress for the sake of Christ. For it is when I am weak that I am strong.
- So then, faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ.
- So we must not fall asleep as the others do, but we must stay alert and sober.
- Then Jesus said to those Jews who did believe in him,
“If you remain faithful to my word,
you will truly be my disciples.
You will know the truth,
and the truth will set you free.” - Pay to each person what is rightfully his—taxes to the one to whom taxes are due, tolls to the one to whom tolls are due, respect to the one to whom respect is due, honor to the one to whom honor is due.
He continued, “Then put away the foreign gods from among you. Bend your heart to the Lord, the God of Israel.”Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts:
he is the King of glory. Selah
