- But Jesus told them, “I will be with you only a little longer. Then I will return to the one who sent me.”
- Then what will you think if you see the Son of Man ascend to heaven again?
- Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair,
and you will find the right way to go. - Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not!
- Pride leads to disgrace,
but with humility comes wisdom. - Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?”
I said, “Here I am. Send me.” - What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?
- I made a covenant with my eyes
not to look with lust at a young woman. - Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
- In those days when you pray, I will listen.
- I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.
- And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.
- Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
- So after more fasting and prayer, the men laid their hands on them and sent them on their way.
- Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?
- That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
- So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded.
- When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.
- Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed— for until then they still hadn’t understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead.
- “All right then,” Joshua said, “destroy the idols among you, and turn your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”
- But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.
- In this way, I will show my greatness and holiness, and I will make myself known to all the nations of the world. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
- So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.
- Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.
- And how much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Yes, the law permits a person to do good on the Sabbath.
Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!”God’s way is perfect.
All the Lord’s promises prove true.
He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. Direct your children onto the right path,
