There you are (2/4)

  • But in your great mercy, you did not destroy them completely or abandon them forever. What a gracious and merciful God you are!
  • So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.
  • Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.
  • Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.
  • What are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them?
  • O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed;
if you save me, I will be truly saved.
My praises are for you alone!
  • Even when I walk
    through the darkest valley,
    I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
    Your rod and your staff
    protect and comfort me.
  • O Lord, I will honor and praise your name,
    for you are my God.
    You do such wonderful things!
    You planned them long ago,
and now you have accomplished them.
  • You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you.
  • Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?
  • So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.
  • For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.
  • Others were given in exchange for you.
I traded their lives for yours
because you are precious to me.
You are honored, and I love you.
  • For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!
  • You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.
  • For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.
  • Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
  • But you, O Lord, are a shield around me;
you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.
  • But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
  • What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.
  • The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with him! Whenever you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will abandon you.
  • Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
  • For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.
  • You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things.
  • And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.

There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.

Bible verse of the day

This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
