Thy (2/4)

  • Every word you utter is true,
    and all your righteous judgments are everlasting.
  • Hear, O Israel, the Lord, our God, is Lord alone. You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
  • This is how you should pray:
    ‘Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be your name.
    Your kingdom come.
    Your will be done
    on earth as it is in heaven.’
  • Teach me to do your will,
    for you are my God.
    Let your gracious Spirit lead me
    along a level path.
  • Be mindful, O Lord, that mercy and kindness
    have been yours from of old.
    Remember not the sins of my youth
    or my many transgressions,
    but remember me in your kindness,
    for the sake of your goodness, O Lord.
  • O Lord, hear my prayer,
    incline your ear to my supplications.
    In your faithfulness respond to me
    with your righteousness.
  • Commit your way to the Lord;
    place your trust in him, and he will act.
    He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
    and the justice of your cause, like the noonday.
  • The Lord will protect you against all evil;
    he will watch over your life.
    The Lord will watch over your coming and your going
    both now and forevermore.
  • Banish grief from your heart
    and ignore the sufferings of your body,
    for youth and the prime of life are fleeting.
  • Help us, O God, our Savior,
    for the glory of your name;
    deliver us and wipe away our sins
    for your name’s sake.
  • I will walk in complete freedom
    because I have sought your commands.
  • Do not forsake your friend or the friend of your father,
    and do not run to your brother’s house when troubles befall you;
    far better is a friend nearby
    than a brother who is far away.
  • But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Your almsgiving must be done in secret. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.
  • You will show me the path to life;
    you will fill me with joy in your presence
    and everlasting delights at your right hand.
  • I have swept away your transgressions like a cloud
    and your sins like a mist.
    Return to me,
    for I have redeemed you.
  • You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male slave, nor his female slave, nor his oxen, nor his donkey, nor anything that belongs to your neighbor.
  • I will make haste and not delay
    to observe your precepts.
  • If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is preferable for you to lose one part of your body than to have your whole body thrown into Gehenna.
  • Do not pride yourself on your own wisdom;
    fear the Lord and turn your back on evil.
    This will provide healing for your flesh
    and restore strength to your body.
  • You have given me the shield of your salvation;
    your right hand sustains me,
    and your goodness makes me great.
    You broadened the path beneath me
    so that my feet have never stumbled.
  • When I realized that my foot was slipping,
    your kindness, O Lord, raised me up.
  • You shall not hate your brother in your heart, nor shall you rebuke your brother in any way, lest you bear sin because of him. You shall not seek vengeance nor bear a grudge against the children of your people. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
  • You shall not kill. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness. Honor your father and your mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.
  • Your word is a lamp for my feet
    and a light to my path.
  • You are my refuge and my shield;
    I put my hope in your word.

As we proceed in the path of your judgments,
we wait for you, O Lord;
your name and your renown
are all that our heart desires.
