| For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake. | For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him. |
| And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. | And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. |

| I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments. | I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands. |
| Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. | Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them, and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive. |
| Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. | Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand. |
| Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. | So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. | So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. |
| And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. | Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. |
| Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. | Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests. |
| And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, To keep the commandments of the Lord, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good? | And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good? |

| If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. | “If you do not listen, and if you do not resolve to honor my name,” says the Lord Almighty, “I will send a curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have already cursed them, because you have not resolved to honor me.” |
| And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. | They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. |

| So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. | Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. |
| For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. | You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you. |
