Gentle words are a tree of life; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, But perverseness in it breaks the spirit.
Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies!Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit.
The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
And every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The words of the godly are like sterling silver; the heart of a fool is worthless.The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; The heart of the wicked is worth little.

Search for peace, and work to maintain it.”For “He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it.”
And he went to the place of the dead. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side. The rich man shouted, ‘Father Abraham, have some pity! Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything.He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.
Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends.He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart; He who does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend.
But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. Wise words bring approval, but fools are destroyed by their own words.The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious, But the lips of a fool shall swallow him up.
Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut.In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise.
Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.
As soon as they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied.When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
