Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.My little children, let’s not love in word only, or with the tongue only, but in deed and truth.
Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends.He who walks blamelessly and does what is right, and speaks truth in his heart; he who doesn’t slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his friend, nor casts slurs against his fellow man.
But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. Wise words bring approval, but fools are destroyed by their own words.The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious; but a fool is swallowed by his own lips.
Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut.In the multitude of words there is no lack of disobedience, but he who restrains his lips does wisely.
