| Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. | My little children, let’s not love in word only, or with the tongue only, but in deed and truth. |
| He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. | Not by works of righteousness which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit. |

| He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. | Of his own will he gave birth to us by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures. |

| Till the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field seems like a forest. | Until the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is considered a forest. |
| The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad. | This is the day that Yahweh has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it! |
