Well (2/3)

  • But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
  • And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
  • If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.
  • Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
  • Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?
  • What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!
  • For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake.
  • Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
  • But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?
  • All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.
  • But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.
  • Therefore, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that “an idol has no real existence,” and that “there is no God but one.”
  • Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith?
  • Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
  • God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
  • Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
  • Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
  • And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
  • For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
  • What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?
  • Then you will understand righteousness and justice
    and equity, every good path.
  • Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
  • And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
  • What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
  • There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call.

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
