- But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.
- Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
- But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved).
- Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord,
that delighteth greatly in his commandments. - And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee:
for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. - Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
- Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
- Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him,
upon them that hope in his mercy. - Blessed are they that keep his testimonies,
and that seek him with the whole heart. - Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
- But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
- Honour widows that are widows indeed.
- The heart is deceitful above all things,
and desperately wicked: who can know it?
I the Lord search the heart,
I try the reins,
even to give every man according to his ways,
and according to the fruit of his doings. - Why art thou cast down, O my soul?
and why art thou disquieted within me?
hope thou in God:
for I shall yet praise him,
who is the health of my countenance, and my God. - Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.
- Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil:
but to the counsellors of peace is joy. - He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life:
but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. - He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.
- So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
- Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
- He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. - Blessed are they that mourn:
for they shall be comforted. - But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
- But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
- A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth:
he will guide his affairs with discretion.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.Next verse! With image
