- People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life,
but those who ignore correction will go astray. - All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God.
- John replied, “If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.”
- People who conceal their sins will not prosper,
but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy. - As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”
- If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine.
- But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
- You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.
- For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
- Walk with the wise and become wise;
associate with fools and get in trouble. - You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things.
- Keep the commandments and keep your life;
despising them leads to death. - Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.
- But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.
- People with understanding control their anger;
a hot temper shows great foolishness. - Anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.
- Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”
- There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.
- I live because of the living Father who sent me; in the same way, anyone who feeds on me will live because of me.
- Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.
- Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.”
- I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.
- Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures.
- Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’
- And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.
