- The Law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. - In peace I will both lie down and sleep,
For You alone, Lord, have me dwell in safety. - When good things increase, those who consume them increase. So what is the advantage to their owners except to look at them?
- Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your body
And refreshment to your bones. - Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.”

And He was exalted with my tongue. - But whoever has worldly goods and sees his brother or sister in need, and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God remain in him?
- Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels?

- For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

And abundant in mercy to all who call upon You. - Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor.

Lord, hear my voice!
Let Your ears be attentive
To the sound of my pleadings. - Riches do not benefit on the day of wrath,
But righteousness rescues from death. - Learn to do good;
Seek justice,
Rebuke the oppressor,
Obtain justice for the orphan,
Plead for the widow’s case. - But as for me, I will be on the watch for the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation.
My God will hear me. - For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age.
- Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
- Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another, according to Christ Jesus.
- You shall not oppress any widow or orphan. If you oppress him at all, and if he does cry out to Me, I will assuredly hear his cry; and My anger will be kindled, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children fatherless.
- Keep deception and lies far from me,
Give me neither poverty nor riches;
Feed me with the food that is my portion. - Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you,
And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
How blessed are all those who long for Him. - We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters, as is only fitting, because your faith is increasing abundantly, and the love of each and every one of you toward one another grows ever greater.
- I permitted Myself to be sought by those who did not ask for Me;
I permitted Myself to be found by those who did not seek Me.
I said, ‘Here am I, here am I,’
To a nation which did not call on My name. - For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
