- Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
- I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud
and your sins like mist;
return to me, for I have redeemed you. - Only be very careful to observe the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments and to cling to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
- Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love,
for they have been from of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
according to your steadfast love remember me,
for the sake of your goodness, O Lord! - For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly execute justice one with another, if you do not oppress the sojourner, the fatherless, or the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not go after other gods to your own harm, then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave of old to your fathers forever.
- Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path. - Remove vexation from your heart, and put away pain from your body, for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.
- I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
- The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me;
your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.
Do not forsake the work of your hands. - You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
- Hear my prayer, O Lord;
give ear to my pleas for mercy!
In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness! - Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
- Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.
- Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
- Know that wisdom is such to your soul;
if you find it, there will be a future,
and your hope will not be cut off. - If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
- Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
- You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. - For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
- You are my hiding place and my shield;
I hope in your word. - Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
- Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
cease to do evil. - My son, if your heart is wise,
my heart too will be glad. - And I shall walk in a wide place,
for I have sought your precepts. - I am the Lord your God; walk in my statutes, and be careful to obey my rules, and keep my Sabbaths holy that they may be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God.
