- But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for I bring you good news of great joy for all the people.”
- This is the Lord’s message to Zerubbabel: Not by force, nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
- You might say to yourself, “How can we know that the Lord did not speak the message?” If what the prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord is not true and it does not happen, then the message was not proclaimed by the Lord. The prophet has spoken presumptuously, you should not fear him.

the Lord is the one who sustains me. - You who abide in the shelter of the Most High,
who rest in the shadow of the Almighty,
say to the Lord, “You are my refuge and my fortress,
my God in whom I place my trust.” - He builds his upper chambers in the heavens
and establishes his vault of the sky over the earth—
the Lord is his name. - For the Lord loves the just,
and he will not forsake his faithful ones.
Those who follow evil paths will be destroyed,
and the children of the wicked will be cut off. - The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the child to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God.”
- For whoever finds me finds life
and receives favor from the Lord. - The way of God is blameless,
and the Lord’s promise proves true;
he is a shield to all
who flee to him for safety. - The way of God is blameless;

who take refuge in him. - Do not be lacking in zeal, but serve the Lord with spiritual fervor.
- Let your kindness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.
- Preferable is the little that the righteous possess
than the great wealth of the wicked.
For the power of the wicked will be overcome,
but the Lord protects the righteous. - I am the Lord, your God,
who brought you out of the land of Egypt.
You know no God but me,
nor any savior other than me. - Finally, find your strength in the Lord and in his mighty power.
- The Lord makes a man’s steps secure
when he approves of his conduct. - Reflect on the Lord and his strength;
seek his face continually. - Wives, be subject to your husbands as you are to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, just as Christ is the head of the Church, the body of which he is the Savior.
- Do I derive any pleasure from the death of the wicked? asks the Lord God. Would I not rather rejoice to see them turn away from their wickedness and live?
