Coming after me (3/4)

  • And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
  • They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit.
  • And they stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
  • Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
  • And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.
  • Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness
    will find life, righteousness, and honor.
  • You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
  • Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
    teach me your paths.
  • Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.
  • Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.
  • Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.
  • Remove far from me falsehood and lying;

  • Create in me a clean heart, O God,
    and renew a right spirit within me.
  • Search me, O God, and know my heart!
    Try me and know my thoughts!
    And see if there be any grievous way in me,
    and lead me in the way everlasting!
  • I sought the Lord, and he answered me
    and delivered me from all my fears.
  • As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me.
  • Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.
  • And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus.
  • Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.
  • For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh.
