- And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.
- By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and by the breath of his mouth all their host. - But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.
- If you walk in my statutes and observe my commandments and do them, then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
- For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
- And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
- If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
