Faith is the substance (4/4)

  • Is not this the fast that I have chosen?
to loose the bands of wickedness,
    to undo the heavy burdens,
and to let the oppressed go free,
and that ye break every yoke?
  • We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
  • He is the Rock, his work is perfect:
for all his ways are judgment:
a God of truth and without iniquity,
    just and right is he.
  • The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.
  • There is a way which seemeth right unto a man,
but the end thereof are the ways of death.
  • No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper;
and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.
  • And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
  • A wise son maketh a glad father:
but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
  • Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
  • And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
  • Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.
  • To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
  • Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
  • Blessed is he
    whose transgression is forgiven,
    whose sin is covered.
  • Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
  • Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
  • As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
  • Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
  • Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
  • Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
  • But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference.
  • And lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
  • But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
  • What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
