Chinese (traditional)- And ‘to love him with all your heart, and with all your understanding, and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself,’ is worth more than any burnt offerings and sacrifices.
- Even though I wander
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are at my side,
with your rod and your staff
that comfort me. - Jesus looked at them and said, “For men it is impossible, but not for God. For God all things are possible.”
- He replied, “What is impossible for men is possible for God.”
- The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
- Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise,
but he who mingles with fools will suffer harm. - Therefore, we can say with confidence:
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid.
What can anyone do to me?” - The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
- Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.
- Have mercy on me, O God,
in accord with your kindness;
in your abundant compassion
wipe away my offenses.
Wash me completely from my guilt,
and cleanse me from my sin. - Oh, that they would have fear of me in their hearts and they would observe all of my commandments always. Then things would go well with them and their children forever.
- The Lord is with you while you are with him. If you seek him, he will permit you to find him, but if you abandon him, he will abandon you.
- For one believes in the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved.
- Guide my steps in accord with your word
and never let evil triumph over me. - In view of all this, you should make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with piety, and piety with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love.
- Then he said to all who were with him, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.”
- I lifted up my voice in prayer to him;
his praise was on my tongue. - Do you suppose that I cannot appeal to my Father for help and he will not immediately send me more than twelve legions of angels?
- One who is covetous will never be satisfied with money,
nor will the lover of wealth be content with gain.
This too is vanity. - It is better to have a little and fear the Lord
than to possess immense wealth and suffer anguish. - I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
he set me free from all my fears. - Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a resolute spirit within me. - Blessed are those who observe his statutes
and seek him with their whole heart. - But I will sing of your strength;
when morning dawns, I will proclaim your kindness.
For you have been my fortress,
my refuge in times of trouble. - Just as the living Father sent me
and I have life because of the Father,
so whoever feeds upon me will live because of me.
Just as water reflects one’s face,
so does one human heart reflect another. Examine me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and understand my thoughts.
See if I follow an evil way,
and guide me on the way to eternity.Next verse!With image
