- The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right;
his ears are open to their cries for help. - Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
- But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.
- For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens.
Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. - Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness.
Let the whole world know what he has done. - They will never again be hungry or thirsty;
they will never be scorched by the heat of the sun.
For the Lamb on the throne
will be their Shepherd.
He will lead them to springs of life-giving water.
And God will wipe every tear from their eyes. - Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things.
Make known his praise around the world. - Don’t get sidetracked;
keep your feet from following evil. - And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
- But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
- But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.
- If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world.
- And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.”
- He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.

My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth! - When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get.
- For the Lord gave us this command when he said,
‘I have made you a light to the Gentiles,
to bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth.’ - “All right then,” Joshua said, “destroy the idols among you, and turn your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”
- For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.
- Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! I came not to bring peace, but a sword.
- The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just
than when we offer him sacrifices. - If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
- As for me, I look to the Lord for help.
I wait confidently for God to save me,
and my God will certainly hear me. - The teaching of your word gives light,
so even the simple can understand. - In my distress I prayed to the Lord,
and the Lord answered me and set me free.
