Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. | Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. |
Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. | Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. |
|
Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world. | Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth. |
I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart. | I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. |
Who is wise? Let them realize these things. Who is discerning? Let them understand. The ways of the Lord are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them. | Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein. |
Do everything in love. | Let all your things be done with charity. |
If you really change your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly, if you do not oppress the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow and do not shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not follow other gods to your own harm, then I will let you live in this place, in the land I gave your ancestors for ever and ever. | For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour; If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever. |
May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. | Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. |
Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the Lord your God has commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns, so that your male and female servants may rest, as you do. | Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee. Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou. |
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. | Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. |
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. | Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) |
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. | For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. |
From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people. | Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah. |
But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. | But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. |
This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.’ | After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. |
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. | Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. |
Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. | Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. |
On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.” | In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. |
The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad. | This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. |
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. | Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. |
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. | Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. |
Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness. | Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake. |
Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops. | Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase. |
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. | Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. |
For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. | For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. |
