- Blessed is the person who has found wisdom,
the one who has gained understanding. - With his mouth the godless man seeks to ruin his neighbor,
but knowledge enables the righteous to be delivered. - He replied, “What is impossible for men is possible for God.”
- Blessed is the man who perseveres when he is tempted, for when he has been proven, he will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
- The Lord has told you, O man, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
Only this: to do what is right, to show mercy,
and to walk humbly with your God. - The misfortunes of the righteous man are many,
but the Lord delivers him, from all of them. - The wealthy man lords it over the poor,
and the borrower becomes the slave of the lender. - The proud man’s heart is not upright,
but the righteous man will live
because of his faith. - The tongue of the just man is like pure silver;
the heart of the wicked is without worth. - The labors of the wicked man produce little profit,
but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward. - The Lord God said, “Behold, man has become like one of us, for he has knowledge of that which is good and that which is evil. Now, we must prevent him from reaching out and taking the fruit of the tree of life lest he eat it and live forever.” The Lord God cast him out of the Garden of Eden; henceforth he was to labor tilling the soil from which he had come.
- And where a single man can be overcome,
two together will be able to resist.
A cord with three strands is not easily broken. - An ignorant man causes strife by his insolence,
but wisdom is found with those who take advice. - Therefore, we can say with confidence:
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid.
What can anyone do to me?” - The Lord makes a man’s steps secure
when he approves of his conduct. - Let no one deceive you in any way.
That Day cannot come before the final rebellion occurs and the lawless one is revealed, the son of destruction. He is the adversary who sets himself in opposition to, and exalts himself above, every so-called god or object of worship, and who even seats himself in the temple of God, declaring himself to be God. - And just as no human being comprehends any person’s innermost being except the person’s own spirit within him, so also no one comprehends what pertains to God except the Spirit of God.
- Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
- It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to place your trust in mortals. - All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in uprightness, so that the man of God may be proficient and equipped for good work of every kind.
- God created mankind in his image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them.
- You must understand, brethren, that it is through him that forgiveness of sins is being proclaimed to you. All those who believe are justified from all the things from which they could not be justified by the Law of Moses.
- But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or how tall he stands, for the Lord has rejected him. He does not see the way that men see, for men look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
- It is better to be a patient man rather than a warrior,
one who controls his temper rather than one who captures a city. - There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free man, there is no longer male or female. For all of you are one in Christ Jesus.
