Matthew 24:24 (3/5)

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.But as for you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door, and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. And when you are praying, do not use thoughtless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard because of their many words.
This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.’Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father, who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.’
Give us today our daily bread.Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.For if you forgive other people for their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. But if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your offenses.
When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. Now whenever you fast, do not make a gloomy face as the hypocrites do, for they distort their faces so that they will be noticed by people when they are fasting. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.
But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.But as for you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that your fasting will not be noticed by people but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?Look at the birds of the sky, that they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather crops into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more important than they?
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Do not judge, or you too will be judged.Do not judge, so that you will not be judged.
Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is narrow and the way is constricted that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts on them, will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.”But when Jesus heard this, He said, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.”

Bible verse of the day

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
