- In the multitude of my thoughts within me
thy comforts delight my soul. - But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
- The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusted in him, and I am helped:
therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth;
and with my song will I praise him. - I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
my God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. - A wise son maketh a glad father:
but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother. - In God is my salvation and my glory:
the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. - Although the fig tree shall not blossom,
neither shall fruit be in the vines;
the labour of the olive shall fail,
and the fields shall yield no meat;
the flock shall be cut off from the fold,
and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation. - My flesh and my heart faileth:
but God is the strength of my heart,
and my portion for ever. - I delight to do thy will, O my God:
yea, thy law is within my heart. - For thou wilt light my candle:
the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. - He only is my rock and my salvation:
he is my defence; I shall not be moved. - He only is my rock and my salvation;
he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. - Let the words of my mouth,
and the meditation of my heart,
be acceptable in thy sight,
O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. - Thou art my hiding place and my shield:
I hope in thy word. - Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
and a light unto my path. - My son, if thine heart be wise,
my heart shall rejoice, even mine. - Turn you at my reproof:
behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you,
I will make known my words unto you. - Truly my soul waiteth upon God:
from him cometh my salvation. - In my distress I called upon the Lord,
and cried unto my God:
he heard my voice out of his temple,
and my cry came before him, even into his ears. - Hear my prayer, O Lord,
and give ear unto my cry;
hold not thy peace at my tears:
for I am a stranger with thee,
and a sojourner, as all my fathers were. - My soul, wait thou only upon God;
for my expectation is from him. - And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
- He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
- The statutes of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart:
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes. - Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord.
When I kept silence, my bones waxed old
through my roaring all the day long.If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
