- In my distress I called to the Lord;
I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came before him, into his ears. - Repent at my rebuke!
Then I will pour out my thoughts to you,
I will make known to you my teachings. - Truly my soul finds rest in God;
my salvation comes from him. - Hear my prayer, Lord,
listen to my cry for help;
do not be deaf to my weeping.
I dwell with you as a foreigner,
a stranger, as all my ancestors were. - And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
- Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.
- When I kept silent,
my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long. - I cried out to him with my mouth;
his praise was on my tongue. - Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord.
- All my longings lie open before you, Lord;
my sighing is not hidden from you. - Then I acknowledged my sin to you
and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.”
And you forgave the guilt of my sin. - If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.
- The Lord is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid? - But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high. - If you love me, keep my commands.
- Since you are my rock and my fortress,
for the sake of your name lead and guide me. - “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord. - This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
- Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God. - I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth. - Surely God is my help;
the Lord is the one who sustains me. - Lord, hear my prayer,
listen to my cry for mercy;
in your faithfulness and righteousness
come to my relief. - Your statutes are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart. - I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.” - But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord,
I wait for God my Savior;
my God will hear me.
Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.”If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.Next verse!With image
