- Wealth hastily gotten will dwindle,
but those who gather little by little will increase it. - A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
and favor is better than silver or gold. - Look! He is coming with the clouds;
every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him;
and on his account all the tribes of the earth will wail.
So it is to be. Amen. - I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you. - Hatred stirs up strife,
but love covers all offenses. - And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.

- Some judge one day to be better than another, while others judge all days to be alike. Let all be fully convinced in their own minds.
- Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful.
- In Hades, where he was being tormented, he looked up and saw Abraham far away with Lazarus by his side. He called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am in agony in these flames.’
