- Love does not rejoice over wrongdoing
but rejoices in the truth.
Love bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things. - During the day the Lord grants his kindness,
and at night his praise is with me,
a prayer to the living God. - Like a city that has been breached and made defenseless
is the man devoid of self-control. - What god can compare with you,
the God who takes away guilt
and forgives the transgressions
of the remnant of your people?
You will not allow your anger to fester forever,
for your delight is in bestowing mercy. - While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud cast a shadow over them. Then a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”
- He will not permit your foot to stumble;
he who guards you will not fall asleep. - Keep falsehood and lying far from me;
give me neither poverty nor riches,
but simply provide me with the food that I need. - I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
he set me free from all my fears. - Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a resolute spirit within me. - Just as the living Father sent me
and I have life because of the Father,
so whoever feeds upon me will live because of me. - Examine me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and understand my thoughts.
See if I follow an evil way,
and guide me on the way to eternity. - Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever receives the one I send
receives me,
and whoever receives me
receives the one who sent me. - And anyone who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
- And you will say on that day:
Give thanks to the Lord,
invoke his name;
make known his deeds among the nations;
proclaim that his name is exalted. - If anyone wishes to serve me,
he must follow me.
Where I am,
there also will my servant be.
If anyone serves me,
my Father will honor that person. - Father, allow those you have given me
to be with me where I am,
so that they may behold my glory,
which you have bestowed on me
because you loved me
before the foundation of the world. - You are a place of refuge for me;
you preserve me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah - May God continue to bless us
and be revered to the ends of the earth. - When you call out to me and come forth and pray to me, I will listen to you.
- If you love me,
you will keep my commandments. - For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer.
However, the face of the Lord
is set against those who do evil. - You have given me the shield of your salvation;
your right hand sustains me,
and your goodness makes me great.
You broadened the path beneath me
so that my feet have never stumbled. - In you, O Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me. - With the Lord to protect me I am not afraid.
What can mortals do to me? - Guide me in your truth and instruct me,
for you are God, my Savior,
and in you I hope all the day long.
