- Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone.
- Because if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

sweetness to the soul and health to the body. - O give thanks to the Lord, call on his name,
make known his deeds among the peoples. - If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
- So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and succeed in the thing for which I sent it. - A fool takes no pleasure in understanding,
but only in expressing personal opinion. - Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable to you,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. - Deliver me, O Lord,
from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue. - A fool's lips bring strife,
and a fool's mouth invites a flogging. - With their mouths the godless would destroy their neighbors,
but by knowledge the righteous are delivered. - Anxiety weighs down the human heart,
but a good word cheers it up. - In all toil there is profit,
but mere talk leads only to poverty. - If any think they are religious, and do not bridle their tongues but deceive their hearts, their religion is worthless.
- And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked what is perverse. - Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what such people do secretly.
- It is honorable to refrain from strife,
but every fool is quick to quarrel. - While I kept silence, my body wasted away
through my groaning all day long. - Even before a word is on my tongue,
O Lord, you know it completely. - But as for you, teach what is consistent with sound doctrine.
