- Keep me safe, O God,
for I have come to you for refuge. - They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done.

You must acknowledge no God but me,
for there is no other savior. - God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.
- Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.
- And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else.
- Glory to God in highest heaven,
and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased. - I wait quietly before God,
for my victory comes from him. - Why am I discouraged?
Why is my heart so sad?
I will put my hope in God!
I will praise him again—
my Savior and my God! - That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.
- Now all glory to God our Father forever and ever! Amen.
