A fool spurns his father’s correction, but whoever heeds admonition is prudent. | A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent. |
Fine words are not becoming to a fool, and much less are false words to a noble. | Excellent speech becometh not a fool: much less do lying lips a prince. |
Let those who are wise understand these words, and let the prudent acknowledge them. For straight are the ways of the Lord; the upright walk in them, but sinners stumble. | Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein. |
