| And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. | And this is the boldness we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. |

| For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. | For whatever is born of God conquers the world. And this is the victory that conquers the world, our faith. |
| Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. | Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action. |

| And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for. | And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have obtained the requests made of him. |
