A fool hath no delight in understanding,
but that his heart may discover itself. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Surely he shall not be moved for ever:
the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all
such as are appointed to destruction. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Thou art my hiding place and my shield:
I hope in thy word. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all. But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth. Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens:
and thy glory above all the earth. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. My son, attend to my words;
incline thine ear unto my sayings.
Let them not depart from thine eyes;
keep them in the midst of thine heart. Therefore also now, saith the Lord,
turn ye even to me with all your heart,
and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning. From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. The statutes of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart:
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Turn you at my reproof:
behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you,
I will make known my words unto you. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. God setteth the solitary in families:
he bringeth out those which are bound with chains:
but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us.
