Humility (2/2)

To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
For the Lord takes delight in his people, and he crowns the humble with salvation. For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with victory.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many. For the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.
Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory because of your kindness and faithfulness. Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness.
Therefore, now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven. For all of his works are right, and all of his ways are just. Also, he is able to humble all those who follow the path of pride. Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are truth, and his ways are justice; and he is able to bring low those who walk in pride.
The Lord makes poor and makes rich, he humbles and he also exalts. The Lord makes poor and makes rich; he brings low, he also exalts.
Woe to anyone who rises up against his Maker, or to the pot that is displeased with the potter. Does the clay say to the one who molds it, “What are you doing? Your work makes no sense.”Woe to you who strive with your Maker, earthen vessels with the potter! Does the clay say to the one who fashions it, “What are you making”? or “Your work has no handles”?
So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.
Come forth! Let us bow down to worship him; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker.O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
This must not be so with you. Instead, whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your servant. It will not be so among you; but whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your slave.
For it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow before me, and every tongue shall give praise to God.”For it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall give praise to God.”
Whenever you fast, do not assume a gloomy expression like the hypocrites who contort their faces so that others may realize that they are fasting. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward. And whenever you fast, do not look dismal, like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces so as to show others that they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward.
To him who in all things is able through the power that is at work within us to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus through all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
The brother who is in modest circumstances should take pride in being raised up. Likewise, the one who is rich should glory in being brought low, for he will disappear like a flower of the field.Let the believer who is lowly boast in being raised up, and the rich in being brought low, because the rich will disappear like a flower in the field.
What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? What are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?
This is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’Pray then in this way: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Hear my prayer, O Lord; do not be deaf to my cry or ignore my weeping. For I am a wayfarer before you, a nomad like all my ancestors.Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear to my cry; do not hold your peace at my tears. For I am your passing guest, an alien, like all my forebears.
Rejoice with all your heart, O daughter Zion. Shout for joy, O daughter Jerusalem. See, your king is coming to you, triumphant and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.Rejoice greatly, O daughter Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter Jerusalem! Lo, your king comes to you; triumphant and victorious is he, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Amen, amen, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.Very truly, I tell you, servants are not greater than their master, nor are messengers greater than the one who sent them.
Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land who obey his commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility; then perhaps you may find shelter on the day of the Lord’s anger.Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, who do his commands; seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you may be hidden on the day of the Lord's wrath.

Bible verse of the day

What god can compare with you,
the God who takes away guilt
and forgives the transgressions
of the remnant of your people?
You will not allow your anger to fester forever,
for your delight is in bestowing mercy.
