- The law of the Lord is perfect,
refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple. - I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!
- So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?
- Keep my commands and follow them. I am the Lord.
- I am the Lord your God; follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Keep my Sabbaths holy, that they may be a sign between us. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God.
- Praise the Lord.
Blessed are those who fear the Lord,
who find great delight in his commands. - But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile.
- Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
- And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
- Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
- Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.
- If anyone sins and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, even though they do not know it, they are guilty and will be held responsible.
- Be sure to keep the commands of the Lord your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you.
- All your words are true;
all your righteous laws are eternal. - If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.
- And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
- I will never forget your precepts,
for by them you have preserved my life. - Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws,
we wait for you;
your name and renown
are the desire of our hearts. - We have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws.
- There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?
- You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.
- Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.
- Turn my heart toward your statutes
and not toward selfish gain. - I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because Abraham obeyed me and did everything I required of him, keeping my commands, my decrees and my instructions.
- Your statutes are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart.
