Law (2/5)

And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.
For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.
If you love Me, keep My commandments.If you love me, obey my commandments.
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.”Well then, am I suggesting that the law of God is sinful? Of course not! In fact, it was the law that showed me my sin. I would never have known that coveting is wrong if the law had not said, “You must not covet.”
And keep the charge of the Lord your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn.Observe the requirements of the Lord your God, and follow all his ways. Keep the decrees, commands, regulations, and laws written in the Law of Moses so that you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go.
The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power.
For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”For the commandments say, “You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not covet.” These—and other such commandments—are summed up in this one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Judge not, that you be not judged.Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.
The wise in heart will receive commands, But a prating fool will fall.The wise are glad to be instructed, but babbling fools fall flat on their faces.
Great peace have those who love Your law, And nothing causes them to stumble.Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble.
Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law.
Blessed are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the law of the Lord!Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord.
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all.That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty.
But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.
He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, But he who is careless of his ways will die.Keep the commandments and keep your life; despising them leads to death.
I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.
‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.
He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.
Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is made right in God’s sight—something the law of Moses could never do.
Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.
Therefore you shall keep My commandments, and perform them: I am the Lord.You must faithfully keep all my commands by putting them into practice, for I am the Lord.
Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments.Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands.
We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.You and I are Jews by birth, not ‘sinners’ like the Gentiles. Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law.
Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God.

But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference.But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

Bible verse of the day

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness,
The power and the glory,
The victory and the majesty;
For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O Lord,
And You are exalted as head over all.
