- Lead me in thy truth, and teach me:
for thou art the God of my salvation;
on thee do I wait all the day. - Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
- And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.
- For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
- For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
- Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.
- He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
- I have blotted out, as a thick cloud,
thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins:
return unto me;
for I have redeemed thee. - Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.
- For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
- For I know that my redeemer liveth,
and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. - Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
- The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- Salvation belongeth unto the Lord:
thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah. - For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
- But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
- For thus saith the high and lofty One
that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy;
I dwell in the high and holy place,
with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble,
and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. - How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings,
that publisheth peace;
that bringeth good tidings of good,
that publisheth salvation;
that saith unto Zion,
Thy God reigneth! - But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.
- As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.
- Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts,
cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. - Therefore I will look unto the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation:
my God will hear me. - He only is my rock and my salvation;
he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. - And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
- I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits,
