- And if one should fall,
his companion will help him up.
How pathetic is the man who is alone and falls
and has no one to assist him to his feet. - I give them eternal life,
and they will never perish.
No one will ever snatch them from my hand.
My Father who has given them to me
is greater than all,
and no one can snatch them
out of the Father’s hand.
I and the Father are one. - This is my commandment:
love one another
as I have loved you. - The prudent man perceives danger and seeks shelter,
while the simple continue forward and pay the penalty. - For from the beginning
you have heard the message
that we should love one another. - There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save or to destroy. Who then are you to pass judgment on a neighbor?
- Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
- You believe that there is one God. You do well to assert that. But even the demons believe and tremble.
- No one can have greater love
than to lay down his life for his friends. - Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
- For I know full well the plans I have for you, plans for your welfare and not for your misfortune, plans that will offer you a future filled with hope.
- It is better to be a patient man rather than a warrior,
one who controls his temper rather than one who captures a city. - Beloved,
let us love one another,
because love is from God.
Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. - Therefore, accept one another for the glory of God, just as Christ has accepted you.
- In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing among the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
- The one who eats everything must not look contemptuously on the one who does not, and the one who abstains must not pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed both.
- Bear with one another, and forgive one another if anyone has reason to be offended with another. You must forgive just as the Lord has forgiven you.
- With all humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another in a spirit of love.
- No one has ever seen God.
It is the only Son, God,
who is at the Father’s side,
who has made him known. - The labors of the wicked man produce little profit,
but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward. - I am coming soon. Hold fast to what you already have so that no one may rob you of your crown.
- And let us consider how to spur one another to love and good works. Do not neglect to attend your assemblies, as some do, but rather encourage one another, especially since you can see the Day approaching.
- But you, O Lord, are a shield to protect me;
you are my glory and the one who raises my head high. - But from the very beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two become one flesh.’ And so they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.
- The entire community of believers was united in heart and soul. No one claimed any of his possessions as his own, for everything was held in common.
