Chinese (traditional)- God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble. - The Lord preserveth the strangers;
he relieveth the fatherless and widow:
but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down. - And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
- Treasures of wickedness profit nothing:
but righteousness delivereth from death. - God setteth the solitary in families:
he bringeth out those which are bound with chains:
but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. - Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
- Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
- Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
- The heavens declare the glory of God;
and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Day unto day uttereth speech,
and night unto night sheweth knowledge. - For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
- But godliness with contentment is great gain.
- For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
- But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
- Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
- With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.
- A fool despiseth his father's instruction:
but he that regardeth reproof is prudent. - Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
- Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out:
he is excellent in power, and in judgment,
and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict. - He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.
- Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
- In the multitude of my thoughts within me
thy comforts delight my soul. - A talebearer revealeth secrets:
but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter. - We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments.
- Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
- Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished:
but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.Lord, all my desire is before thee;
and my groaning is not hid from thee. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.Next verse!With image
