- A friend loves at all times,
And a brother is born for adversity. - Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects;
Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. - While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!”
- Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
- I cried to Him with my mouth,
And He was extolled with my tongue. - Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
- As iron sharpens iron,
So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. - The Lord is righteous in all His ways,
Gracious in all His works. - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
- So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
- Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
- A merry heart does good, like medicine,
But a broken spirit dries the bones. - Excellent speech is not becoming to a fool,
Much less lying lips to a prince. - Children’s children are the crown of old men,
And the glory of children is their father. - Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
- And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
- And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
- Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed;
Save me, and I shall be saved,
For You are my praise. - He who covers a transgression seeks love,
But he who repeats a matter separates friends. - From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
- He who keeps instruction is in the way of life,
But he who refuses correction goes astray. - I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.
- And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
- Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.
- And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
- Learn to do good;
Seek justice,
Rebuke the oppressor;
Defend the fatherless,
Plead for the widow. - For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
- If a person sins, and commits any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord, though he does not know it, yet he is guilty and shall bear his iniquity.
- Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace;
When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive. - Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
- For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
- The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise. - For in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’
- If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.
- For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
- And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
- And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us,
And establish the work of our hands for us;
Yes, establish the work of our hands. - You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, His testimonies, and His statutes which He has commanded you.
- For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
- And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.
- But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
- Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.
- That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.
- But “he who glories, let him glory in the Lord.” For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.
- Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
- Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.
- But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
- And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.
- A little that a righteous man has
Is better than the riches of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
But the Lord upholds the righteous. - “They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts,
“On the day that I make them My jewels.
And I will spare them
As a man spares his own son who serves him.”
