- When I fed them, they were satisfied;
when they were satisfied, they became proud of heart
and quickly forgot me. - I then heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me!”
- If we claim that we have fellowship with him
while we continue to live in darkness,
we are lying and do not live in the truth. - That is why you also pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, and they devote themselves to this service.
- He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress, so that I stand unshaken. - You shall keep these things that I command you today in your heart. Teach them to your children. You shall talk of them when you are sitting in your home, and when you are walking along the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up.
- Just as the living Father sent me
and I have life because of the Father,
so whoever feeds upon me will live because of me. - This is the Lord’s message to Zerubbabel: Not by force, nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
- Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
- Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
- So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough troubles of its own.
- But as for you, man of God, you must shun all this. Rather, pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, fortitude, and gentleness.
- Only goodness and kindness will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever and ever. - For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall also be united with him in his resurrection. We know that our old self was crucified with him, so that our sinful body might be destroyed and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.
- As sorrowful, and yet we are always rejoicing; as poor, and yet we make many rich; as having nothing, and yet we possess everything.
- In my anguish I cried out;
the Lord heard my plea,
and I was saved from all my troubles. - You shall take heed to observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, and the decrees and statutes that he has given to you.
- Therefore, while we have the opportunity, let us labor for the good of all, but especially for those members of the household of the faith.
- Remember this: if you sow sparingly, you will reap sparingly, and if you sow generously, you will reap generously as well.
- I am confident of this: that the one who began a good work in you will bring it to completion on the day of Christ Jesus.
- But he is to ask with faith, without doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed about by the wind.
- Jesus answered them,
“I am the bread of life.
Whoever comes to me will never be hungry,
and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” - If we are diligent in observing all of these commandments before the Lord, our God, as he commanded of us, then this will be our righteousness.
- Since in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor lack of circumcision is worth anything. All that matters is faith expressing itself through love.
- Blessed are you when people hate you and ostracize you, when they insult you and denounce your name as evil on account of the Son of Man.
