Also (4/4)

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.
The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed. My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you— I whom you have delivered.
Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife.
For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.
Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”
Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. And walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.”
Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God.
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.
But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises.
For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow. For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief.
