- And walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
- Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
- For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.
- And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.
- Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”
- For, “Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep their tongue from evil
and their lips from deceitful speech.
They must turn from evil and do good;
they must seek peace and pursue it.” - But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
- To fear the Lord is to hate evil;
I hate pride and arrogance,
evil behavior and perverse speech. - I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears. - Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all. - May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.
- Even to your old age and gray hairs
I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you. - My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever. - Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
- They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. “Hail, king of the Jews!” they said.
- He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. - Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God.
- The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him. - If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
- Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”
- I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.
- The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace. - He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what lies in darkness,
and light dwells with him. - If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
- If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.Next verse!With image
