- For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.
- And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.
- And walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
- The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love. - Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you.
- For, “Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep their tongue from evil
and their lips from deceitful speech.
They must turn from evil and do good;
they must seek peace and pursue it.” - Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God.
- But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
- Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
- Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”
- My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever. - May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.
- If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
- I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.
- For the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth.
- He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what lies in darkness,
and light dwells with him. - Even to your old age and gray hairs
I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you. - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
- He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. - The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him. - I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears. - The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace. - They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. “Hail, king of the Jews!” they said.
- If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
- Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us nor forsake us. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.Next verse!With image
