the love that God has for us.
God is love,
and whoever abides in love
abides in God,
and God in him. - The Lord makes poor and makes rich,
he humbles and he also exalts. - Examine me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and understand my thoughts.
See if I follow an evil way,
and guide me on the way to eternity. - For light produces all goodness and righteousness and truth.
- For this reason
a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh. - Grant justice to the weak and the orphan;
defend the rights of the lowly and the poor. - They answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, and so too will your household.”
- Then, after completing their fasting and prayer, they laid their hands on them and sent them off.
- Behold, we are now going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death. Then they will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and scourged and crucified, and on the third day he will be raised to life.
