Chinese (traditional)- Seek good, and not evil,
that ye may live:
and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you,
as ye have spoken. - So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
- Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
- He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
- And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
- For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
- And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
- But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
- Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
- For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
- Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
- Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee.
- And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
- For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways,
and my thoughts than your thoughts. - Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
- If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
- But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
- And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
- As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
- And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
- And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you.
- And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
- And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us.
- But let judgment run down as waters,
and righteousness as a mighty stream. - Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.
