- The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has been unable to overcome it. - I am now about to go the way of all upon the earth. You know very well in your hearts and your souls that not one of the good things that the Lord, your God, promised you has failed to take place. Every promise has been fulfilled, not one of them has been broken.
- Those of you who seek to be justified by the Law have cut yourselves off from Christ and have fallen away from grace.
- Beloved,
we are God’s children now.
What we shall be
has not yet been revealed.
However, we do know that when he appears
we shall be like him,
for we shall see him as he really is.
Everyone who has this hope in him
keeps himself pure,
just as he is pure. - After John had baptized all the people, and while Jesus was engaged in prayer after also having been baptized, heaven opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased.”
- While he was departing as they gazed upward toward the sky, suddenly two men dressed in white robes stood beside them, and they said, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking up into the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will come back in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven.”
- No one has ever seen God,
but if we love one another,
God abides in us,
and his love is made complete in us. - Like a city that has been breached and made defenseless
is the man devoid of self-control. - For it is in him that the entire fullness of deity dwells in bodily form, and you share this fullness in him who is the head of every ruler and power.
- Jesus answered them, “Amen, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to this fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be accomplished.”
- I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
- Whoever believes in him is not condemned,
but whoever does not believe in him
already stands condemned,
because he has not believed in the name
of the only-begotten Son of God. - I do not say this because I have been in need, for I have learned to be content with whatever I have.
- In love there is no fear;
indeed, perfect love casts out fear,
because fear has to do with punishment,
and whoever fears
has not yet achieved perfection in love. - God is faithful, and it is by him that you have been called into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
- For this reason, he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who have been called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since his death has served to redeem the sins that were committed under the first covenant.
- Blessed are those who are persecuted in the cause of justice,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - The birth of Jesus Christ occurred in this way. When his mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they came to live together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
- For everyone born of God
conquers the world.
And the victory that conquers the world
is our faith. - All this has been done by God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and entrusted us with the ministry of reconciliation.
- I urge you, brethren, to watch out for those who incite dissensions and obstacles in opposition to the teaching that you have learned. Take care to avoid them.
- Fear not, little flock, for your Father has chosen to give you the kingdom.
- But he was pierced for our offenses
and crushed for our iniquity;
the punishment that made us whole fell upon him,
and by his bruises we have been healed. - But according to Scripture all things have been confined under sin, so that through faith in Jesus Christ what was promised might be given to those who believe.
- Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have received from God, and that you are not your own? You have been purchased at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body.
