Believe and receive (3/4)

  • Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?”
  • Jesus said to him, “If you are able!—All things can be done for the one who believes.”
  • I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus.
  • Now I would remind you, brothers and sisters, of the good news that I proclaimed to you, which you in turn received, in which also you stand, through which also you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message that I proclaimed to you—unless you have come to believe in vain.
  • Likewise all to whom God gives wealth and possessions and whom he enables to enjoy them, and to accept their lot and find enjoyment in their toil—this is the gift of God.
  • We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; yet we know that a person is justified not by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ. And we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by doing the works of the law, because no one will be justified by the works of the law.
  • And said to them, “Whoever welcomes this child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me; for the least among all of you is the greatest.”
  • Who are you to pass judgment on servants of another? It is before their own lord that they stand or fall. And they will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make them stand.
  • For one believes with the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved.
  • Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved by him, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly explaining the word of truth.
  • But ask in faith, never doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.
  • For Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
  • Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more eager to confirm your call and election, for if you do this, you will never stumble. For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you.
  • No one who conceals transgressions will prosper,
but one who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
  • Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.
  • Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.
  • For just as the sufferings of Christ are abundant for us, so also our consolation is abundant through Christ.
  • I lift up my eyes to the hills—
from where will my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
    who made heaven and earth.
  • So I say to you, Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.
  • Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but must endure God's wrath.
  • But now that you have been freed from sin and enslaved to God, the advantage you get is sanctification. The end is eternal life.
  • For the love of Christ urges us on, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died. And he died for all, so that those who live might live no longer for themselves, but for him who died and was raised for them.
  • Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back.
  • Who is it that conquers the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
  • Let it be known to you therefore, my brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you; by this Jesus everyone who believes is set free from all those sins from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God.
