Burdens be lifted up (2/4)

  • And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
  • He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
  • The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich:
    he bringeth low, and lifteth up.
  • I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,
    from whence cometh my help.
    My help cometh from the Lord,
    which made heaven and earth.
  • Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
  • But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
  • And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.
  • Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.
  • Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude. And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.
  • He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous:
    he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
  • And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
  • But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me;
    my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
  • The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
    The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
    The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
  • Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
  • And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
  • And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
  • But they that wait upon the Lord
    shall renew their strength;
    they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
    they shall run, and not be weary;
    and they shall walk, and not faint.
  • But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.
  • Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.
  • Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
  • Train up a child in the way he should go:
    and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
  • For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
  • Oh how great is thy goodness,
    which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee;
    which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee
    before the sons of men!
  • Because thy lovingkindness is better than life,
    my lips shall praise thee.
    Thus will I bless thee while I live:
    I will lift up my hands in thy name.
  • And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
