- For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
- A fool despises his father's instruction,
but whoever heeds reproof is prudent. - What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!
- Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. - And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
- Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets,
but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered. - Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,
but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out. - Whoever covers an offense seeks love,
but he who repeats a matter separates close friends. - But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
- I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.
- For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
- For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
but those who plan peace have joy. - Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life,
but he who rejects reproof leads others astray. - And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
- House and wealth are inherited from fathers,
but a prudent wife is from the Lord. - Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse. - But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
- But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.
- Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
- Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”
- But let justice roll down like waters,
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. - Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him,
but the righteous shall live by his faith. - So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.”
The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers. May he not leave us or forsake us.
