Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’ |
What then? Are we to sin because we are not under the Law but under grace? Far from it! | Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! |

Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, But counselors of peace have joy. | Deceit fills hearts that are plotting evil; joy fills hearts that are planning peace! |
One who is on the path of life follows instruction, But one who ignores a rebuke goes astray. | People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life, but those who ignore correction will go astray. |
Whom do I have in heaven but You? And with You, I desire nothing on earth. | Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. |
But now in Christ Jesus you who previously were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. | But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ. |
