Come and see (2/4)

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker.
Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.Now he is exalted to the place of highest honor in heaven, at God’s right hand. And the Father, as he had promised, gave him the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us, just as you see and hear today.
I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.
We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.
I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent.
“Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen.Look! He comes with the clouds of heaven. And everyone will see him— even those who pierced him. And all the nations of the world will mourn for him. Yes! Amen!
The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.
Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it?
He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!
On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.”On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!”
His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.
Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”
I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord. When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.
Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.”
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.
For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.For the Son of Man will come with his angels in the glory of his Father and will judge all people according to their deeds.
Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves.

I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures.
