| Think carefully about what is right, and stop sinning. For to your shame I say that some of you don’t know God at all. | Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame. |

| So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. | How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. | Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the children of mankind! |
| The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. | The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. |
| Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything. | Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. |
| For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. | For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. |
